Description

Rim sherd. Rim edge curves, rising to a projection with a wide tab which turns outward. Below tab on the exterior side is a knob of applied clay with incised markings. Band of cord marking near rim. Bands of burnished surface and incised arrow-like patterns separated by raised strips with crosswise slashes. Interior is smooth and partially burnished. Black to orange in color. Part of 13089B. The elaborate rim projections and surface decoration are reminiscent of the fanciful vessels of the Middle Jomon Period.
