Description | Carved frame of dark wood with fine teeth through which cotton string is threaded. Series of sticks intertwined in threads. Attached to frame are pink nylon strings with loops to attach to pole. Blue and green nylon string are attached to smaller poles. This is used for making a Pha Kha Ma (ผ้าขะม้า, ผ้าขาวม้า), which is a blanket that is 13 Lob wide (หลบ) in size. It was about 10 years old at the time of its aquisition in 1981. |
