Description

A fish trap in a long, cylindrical basket woven from bamboo (mai phai ban ไม้ไผ่บ้าน). It has a thin piece of wood attached to the side as a handle. The bottom is flat with a hole woven into it. The hole is not just flat but has raised sides. The basket is used by being tied to a post near bamboo and baited with bran and cooked red ants. It is used seasonally from August through September. The owner was a Mr. Sung (สูง).
