Description | Probably pine root; flat bottom; straight with slightly flaring sides. Plain twining, bottom started with plaiting turning into coarse twining. Decoration in dyed grass in overlay twining skip-stitch. Bands of red near bottom and at top; small fat chevrons in purple in middle. Edge finished with a braids. Good size; very dry. Red dye probably anilline; purple may be native. |
