Description | Earthenware. Globular pot with lower half pierced by fine holes Sieve with a globular body, no neck/collar, rounded rim, 1 strap handle from the rim to the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The body of the vessel is pierced through with numerous holes. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The body is pierced with numerous holes. Evidence of usewear includes staining. The catalogue number is written in black ink on the interior of vessel. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "644." |
