Natural color bark cloth with rubbed linear pattern (upeti) and dark brown freehand over painting. Border without pigment. Man’s garment (malo). Acquired during the United States Exploring Expedition (1838-1842) by Titian R. Peale. “Tapa dress [garment]. (Man’s).” on Peale list.
