Description | Plain spherical red bottle with flaring neck, one vertical loop handle with fruit ornament (broken) and in place of opposite handle, striping Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, hyperboloid neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. The vessel is red slipped and painted with white lines down the body. There is a fruit or corn on one of the handles that is painted white. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3132." |
