Description | Man's head ornament. Of cassowary feathers tied into a band of crude coiled basketwork. A large number of small white feathers are tied to the cassowary feathers. Back of catalog card reads: "Head Ornament: Of feathers, in flat band of basketwork. Compare the clipped feathers of the other head ornaments. the dark feathers here are also from the cassowary. N.E. New Guinea, Sepik River, Kambrigi. 29-50-57." |
