Description | Long seat, base with projections at ends, like sled runners. Human figures at each end, reclining (shoulders and heads rising from ends of seat, arms embracing ends, feet meeting on sides at center). Eyes inlaid with shell rings (conus?) (one broken). "Anchor" noses, ears pierced with two holes. Twisted fiber with tassels around necks and arms, and in one of the ear holes. Incised repeated W's along legs and down center of one side (relief design down center, other side). Rows of ovals carved along tops of sides. White pigment rubbed in carving. Pinkish pigment onbottom of bench and on sides of runners. |
