Description | Drum used in Noh dances. Black painted handle with two barrel drums at right angles to each other on handle with decorated "spike" at end. Barrels painted red with dark streaks through it. Double heads. Green around sides, tops gold with traces of dark color (possibly dark blue). Nineteen wooden pegs around each head of both drums - total of three missing. Bell attached to each side of both drums by long gold cords and hit heads when played. |
