Description

Large pot with turnip-shaped body, short neck with everted lip, two horizontal loop handles on shoulder. snake and bosses in relief on shoulder with calabash as cover, snake indicated that it belongs to the time of the Incas. Contents of the pot are: 32299, 32072, 32109, 32369, 32331, 32339, 36723a-b, 32190a-e, 31998, 32004, 32005, 32010, 32389.

Cooking pot (olla) with a globular body, bulging collar, flaring rim, 2 horizontal strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. There are raised snakes and circles on the upper part of the body. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the base and body. The raised circles appear to have been pushed out from the inside. Evidence of usewear includes soot on the exterior and staining. The catalogue number is written in black ink. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1306."
