Description | Red, round bottom pot, bosses and serpentine lines on neck and shoulder, two horizontal loop handles ringed with white Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, 2 horizontal strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. The vessel has a red slip and white painted geometric decoration on the handles. Raised hemispheres and snakes with white painted dots and stripes. The vessel appears to have been smoothed with a rotative movement on the exterior and scraped on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The exterior has lots of parallel striations from smoothing. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2864a." |
