Description | Plain. Oval body, flaring neck; small loop handle at base of neck, knob on opposite side of neck. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an ovate body, flaring neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. No decoration. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Evidence of usewear includes surface attrition on the bottom/base. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1114c." |
