Description | Male figure advancing right brandishes a club in his right hand and in the outstretched left, an animal which he is about to kill. this is made up of two fragments not belonging together, one found on the E-hur-sag site Third Dynasty - Larsa Level, the lower part found above the Royal Cemetery area; the two were from the same mold. Legrain suggests that the man holds in his left hand a spear and a shield made of an animal's skin mouned on a frame; otherwise he holds an actual animal which is about to kill CBS Register: terracotta. molded plaque. warrior god (?) holding scimitar and lance and shield (?). present height of the fig. 54 mm. |
