Description | Red dyed cloth with picture of elephant in beige/gold, seems to have been dyed using a resist method. Elephant is in the center of the textile. Thailand started using an elephant on a red background as its national flag in 1840 during the reign of King Rama III. This may have come from a merchant ship. |
