Description

Brown ware; small; straight rim, narrow beck flaring out to round body, base rather squat; black and red achiote curvilinear design visible on one side, traces remain on other; design covers flattened base. Used in initiation rites as ceremonial water jar; model of larger; initates spit their teeth-blackening juice into it, this is then mixed with corn soup given to iniates before induced vomiting.
