Description

Rehab. Deep narrow body deeply waisted to form 2 body compartments. Lower section of sounding surface of membrane. Top sounding board narrows slightly into a short neck. Peg box curls back into an animal head. Peg box opens at front. 5 lateral pegs (3 on one side, 2 on the other). 11 lateral pegs along one side of top sound board to which strings attach internally. 2 wooden end buttons. Entire instrument covered with inlaid mounting - red, white, and black stripes separating tiny intricate star design s of white designs of white, black, green, and gold. Alternating strips of wood and ivory edge, body, neck and peg box. Very poor condition. Lower half of body broken from upper half with pieces missing. Membrane broken. Bad cracks all over body. 2 pegs missing. no strings. no bow.

Length: 92 cm. Width, membrane resonator: 19.5 cm. Width, bottom of sound board: 11 cm. Depth of body: 26 cm.
