Description | Electrotype copy of long spouted gold cup of Queen Shubad. Deformed oval, fluted, engraved with chevrons at top and bottom. Small oval foot. Original in British Museum. Note.- All electrotypes were made in London The two cuneiform signs that compose her name were initially read as "Shub-ad" in Sumerian. Today, however, we think they should be read in Akkadian as "Pu-abi." |
