Description | Knotted netting of rope made from oil palm leaflet fibres. Used in drives. Beaters drive the game into the net where the animals are despatched by the hunters, with harpoons of matchets [machetes]. In Sitia these nets are used in hunting antelopes, especially the small antelope, flitambo; on the mainland in hunting also bush pigs, etc. |
