Description

Black sarong (tembe me'e). Black, with faint blue stripes and thin blue top and bottom borders of the classic Donggo sarong. Made of ote' galia (longstaple cotton?) bought in Sila market and dyed with local indigo. Borders made with nggoli, a predyed synthetic thread also available in Sila. Machine sewn. Made in 1977, Kambentu hamlet. Border stripes double, purplish blue. Narrow stripes barely visible. Hem torn and mended, small hole near center seam.
