Description | An unfinished example. See 37-22-179, 178. Some of the splints remain in place. A string has been run through the meshes at the mouth preparatory to tying the net to its hoop. While the net is being made, as it gets larger and larger, the finished portion often drags on the ground as the woman who is making it moves about. The rag stitched to the bottom of the net is intended to protect if from the wear caused by this. |
