Description | Hah-yiu-ch'in. Eight notes, little used, originated in 1880, twenty strings, rectangular in shape, light wood, convex top, hollow interior, flat bottom with round hole one third of the way from end. Small crescent like hole one third way from other hole. Twenty small flat metal pegs extend from on end, other end has large clover leaf hole. Red paper strips with Chinese characters extend width of sound baord and are near the other end. Rattling agent in side. |
