Description | Spreading, trumpet shaped foot; half-ovoid body; truncated conical neck; overhanging lip. Broad strap handle (second handle missing) rising steeply from shoulder to point well above lip and descending steeply down to edge of lip; a pair of rotelles at base of handle and at highest point. Glaze decoration on buff ground: upper surface of foot solidly glazed; band and lines around greatest circumference of body; neck panels with lattice diamonds; on each rotelle is an asterisk with a dot in each interval. Triple vertical lines on outside of handle. A single swastika, with a dot between each leg, on front & back. One handle missing, part of rim mended. Otherwise intact. Red-brown glaze. |
