Description | Large mask, encrusted across top, down sides and on bottom third with reddish clay, inlaid with conus, cowrie and nassa shells. Soft fiber beard. Cassowary feather at top. Cowrie shell eyes. Boar's tusk nose ornament in large nose. Extensions from nose (with some clay and nassa shells at top) become bird and touches again at chin. Tufts of black and white feathers at this point. red, black and white. face paint. |
