Description

"141- Fangao- head basket. This is the strong fibre of the Palma Brava tree pounded out. The center of the tree is soft and spongy."

Rectangular twill work base attached to bamboo splint foot with malay knots. Body of twillwork with top and sides bound with braided knotwork. One side of top lower- this side rests on back. "Outside" is covered with Palma Brava fibres held on with rattan loops. Over this are a series of bundles of fibres attached to a flexible woven base of fibre cord. This flips forward over the shoulders.
