Description

Depressed body, short wide neck with thickened rim, two vertical loop handles on shoulder, encircling band of dot and line relief decoration on upper body

Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a squat-globular body, cylindrical neck, outward sloping rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a band of raised dot and line decoration around the shoulder and is painted orange/purple. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color.
