Description | With figure of an animal lying down Round lid with an effigy-zoomorphic handle on the top of the lid. The lid has a modeled/molded animal figure (jaguar?) lying down on the top of the lid. The animal is painted red with white stripes and the details of the face are painted red and white. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the interior. No other numbers are visible on the object. |
