Sommerville: Sardonyx. Trebonianus Gallus, forty-first Emperor of Rome. Beautiful stone. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case S.

Vermeule: Sardonyx. Cameo. (Modern gilt locket setting). Laureate, draped cuirassed bust to right., identified by Sommerville as Treboniana Gallus 41st. Emperor of Rome (A.D. 251-253). Features copied in a general way from a coin portrait. 16th or 17th century.
