Description

Large kettle, pear-shaped profile. Broad mouth. Attached to top of rim is a bust of a female with long wings occupying ca. one half of the circumference of the mouth. The handle is in the form of a standing, half-draped hermaphrodite standing on a bust of Cupid holding a bird. Three short, broad feet, openwork sphinxes. Original found at Pompeii.
