Description | Depressed with tapering base; short bulging neck; two vertical loop handles on body. Painted with human faces and other worn down designs Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a globular body, bulging neck, rounded rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a red slip (?) and is painted with red, black, and orange. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1826." |
