Description

Chert or volcanic origin. Black fine-grained rock with concoidal fracture. The two pieces fit together. Lanceolate in shape. Base is concave with ear on one edge being more pronounced than the ear on the other edge. Small flakes are driven off the base parallel to the longitudinal axis. Junction is formed by the intersection of the element edges. Flake scars are parallel to one another and perpendicular to edges. Flakes are struck off both edges and meet along longitudinal axis, forming a slight ridge. There is grinding along the longitudinal axis and on one surface the grinding is found from the base to a point 2.2 cm. away from the base. Attached to 69-16-39.
