Figurine

Buff terra cotta figurine of a small bird figurine with wings outstreched, as if in flight, head held up. Tips of both wings broken off and missing. Pellet eyes applied. Pierced vertically through back. Dark brown paint in stripes on wings, tail, band around neck. Socket around hole on underside. Eyes of applied clay, painted stripes on body, one wing slightly damaged. Hole in center top which leads through to a wider, rimmed hole in bottom of bird.

UE IV: clay figurine of a flying bird; hand-modelled in greenish drab clay with details in black paint. There is a hole through the body prolonged below by a tubular socket as if to mount the bird on a staff.
