Description

Plaid sarong with figures (tembe paleka-salunka). Predyed synthetic (nggoli). Machine sewn. Made in 1982, collected in Larodu hamlet. Black, with overall pattern of butterflies and nested diamonds in red, white & yellow. panel defined by zig-zags (nagi) of yellow, red & white. Rather complicated yellow and white butterflies down center. Border stripes green, with white zig-zags. Writing: "ANASTASIA" and "HADIDA".
