Globular body with cylindrical neck and one loop handle shoulder to neck. Plain with a face on neck and arms partly in full relief holding object to mouth.

Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jug with a globular body, hyperboloid neck, rounded rim, 1 strap handle extending from the neck to the body, and a rounded base. The vessel has a modeled face with eyes, ears, and nose. There are modeled arms on the body holding an object up to the mouth. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange and buff in color. There are striations on the neck from smoothing tool. There are possible traces of red paint/slip. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "1901."
