Description

Three dimensional puppet with wooden torso, wooden head, wooden arms, articulated at shoulder and elbows, cotton skirt from waist down. Puppet is held and operated by a wooden stick which passes through a hole in the torso and into the base of the head and by sticks attached to the hands. Face dark red, rest of skin gold. Somewhat bulging round red eyes, straight nose. Black hair in three points up back, crown, ear ornaments, and green garuda mungkur. Gold ornaments upper arms, red bands at wrists. Wrists flexed. Long velvet chest cover with double border of gold braid. Red and cream ikat sash. batik skirt; dark blue with complex all over design in light brown covering back and coming to points at sides of front, with arrow/leaf shapes in between. Left arm detached. Male character, possibly Udawa, Prime Minister to Kresna.
