Description | Tomb 1 = Herscher, Tomb 801. Red polished II jug with cutaway spout. Fragmentary. Soft orange clay with very light gray interior in places. Thick lustrous red slip. Small flat base, body not restored; conical neck, cutaway spout; vertical handle from rim to upper body (damaged). Relief decoration: on neck, punctured knob at either side of upper handle attachment. Duplicate of 809A.6, 7. Cf. 810A. 7, 12, etc. Body missing 1978. |
