| Description | Sommerville: Antique paste cameo. Cupid and Psyche, two figures. Opalescent. Antique Pastes, Case YYY. Vermeule: Glass paste ringstone in pale yellow. Cameo. (Unmounted) Eros and Psyche embracing. Psyche wears a long chiton. The composition has its origin in an early Hellenistic statue group. It was very popular in terracottas and marble reliefs of the Hellenistic and Graeco-Roman periods. |
