Description | A cylindrical betel box base in red lacquer with a bamboo structure. The etching is a design in za-yun (Burmese term for wire mesh design). There is a wide base with an inward step for the lid to rest on and a tall vertical inner portion. This was probably imported to Thailand from Bagan, Burma. |
