Description | Sommerville: Bronze, with gold alloy. The Sprig with Rose. Etruscan Seals, Scarabei, Intaglios, and Rings, Case FF. Vermeule: Ring: Bronze with gold alloy. Intaglio. A horse springing to left., with a rose beneath and another rose in the field above flanked by the letters I V; a wreath-like border surrounds the entire composition. Possibly Graeco-Roman in a Balkan style; equally likely a 19th product based on ancient models. |
