Description | Round bottom, depressed body, rim thickened outside, two vertical loop handles at rim, low black pot, impressed design in band encircling mouth Cooking pot (olla) with a squat-globular body, no neck/collar, flanged rim, 2 strap handles on the body, and a rounded base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel has a raised band of curvilinear and dot design around the shoulder. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere as the surface is black and the interior is gray in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3371." |
