Description

Intact save for a small chip at lip near one handle. Bottom reserved. From bottom up, glazed bands and patterns as follows: broad wheel-run (w-r.) band; 3 w-r. lines; panels of 4 vertical strokes separated by a thick vertical stroke; 3 w-r. lines; zone of chevrons; 3 w-r. lines; row of dots; 3 w-r. lines; tall zone; vertical latticed tongue pattern alternating with groups of vertical lines and vertical panels of hatched lines; 3 w-r. lines; row of dots; 3 w-r. lines; on outer surface of handle panels of large X's, an asterisk at upper attachment; 6 groups of multiple brush strokes at intervals on top of lip. 3 w-r. lines just within lip. Interior otherwise unglazed. Hard, pinkish buff clay.
