Description | Black clay. Body shaped as the head of an animal, probably a Llama. With funnel neck on top of head. Deeply ribbed lines over all contours. Narrow-necked jar/bottle with an effigy-zoomorphic body, flaring neck, rounded rim, no handles, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. shaped like a llama head. The vessel is shaped like a llama head with raised ridges in the shape of concentric circles radiating out from the eyes of the animal. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere as the surface is black and the interior is gray in color. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom. Black ink on the bottom of the vessel reads: "1806." |
