Description | Tabla. Hindu, Quhle. Body of wood, painted with red yellow and black stripes. Head is yellow with a black and circular shape (tuning paste) in center. Thick leather ring is wound about the head and base. Strips of leather are attached to the two rings going lengthwise along the drum cylindrical blocks of wood (8) held between the body and the straps for tuning purposes. Poor condition - head is torn, wood cracked, a few leather straps are broken. |
