Description | Basketry quiver of plain and twill weaves. Woven in two layers of grass with layer of pitch between them. Bottom 11cm have been coated on outside with pitch although most has chipped off. Central portion of quiver abouve pitch is of twill weave with weft of dark brown grass creating geometric design. Basket narrows here. the quiver broadens in width at top. The basket lacks a base. Quiver is filled with straw and nine arrows. Arrows have no points and the ends are wrapped with cotton (?). |
