Description | Bichrome jug; Complete; slip and paint worn making it difficult to discern "two color paint" as indicated in original catalogue cards (from 1932). Ring Base; depressed ovoid with greatest diameter at low shoulder; tall nearly straight neck flaring near rim; rounded rim; strainer opening; short cut-away side strainer spout perpendicular to handle with flaring rounded rim; vertical handle from upper neck to shoulder. Band encircling juncture of base and lower body; bands encircling belly of which central one is reddish; band encircling upper shoulder, base of neck, exterior of rim; base of spout, interior of spout rim; framed vertical zig-zag pattern on handle. Also traces of paint on neck, top of main strainer opening, and exterior of spout. |
