Description | Tobacco pipe; dark brown in color; stem of pipe is bent upward at the mouth piece end; narrow, cylindircal reed mouth piece protrudes from the center of the top end; three raised rings carved around rim; below this is ornamented an interlocking chain-like pattern; cylindrical stem; carved on lower part of stem is imitation of basketwork pattern with horns of an antelope (Bambi) in the center; bottom end of stem is wrapped with copper wire; stem of pipe goes through bottom portion of bowl; bowl has an hourglass shape; top portion is larger and opened at top; bottom part has a flat base; bowl is ornamented with Ikundu pattern around the rim and base; three raised rings carved around the center The use of this pipe is individual, it in not passed from hand to hand in smoking. |
