Description | White painted Kylix; Complete; rim chipped; interior gouges; slip and paint entirely worn in spots; exposed fabric soft and powdery. Very low, hollow-stemmed, splayed foot; double curved body with upper part slightly convex and incurved at rim; plain rounded rim; 2 oblique horizontal handles on upper body. Interior: concentric circles at bottom; wide encircling band below rim. Exterior: stem and foot painted solid; encircling bands around lower body; on either side of upper body between handles, panel composed of double crosshatched lozenges, double crosshatched triangle, framed by 2 vertical lines on each side; wide encircling band below rim incised with 3 encircling lines (in imitation of Red Slip bowls). |
