Description | Flattened body, flaring neck, two vertical loop handles shoulder to neck, slight ornamentation on handles Narrow-necked jar/bottle with a lentoid body, hyperboloid neck, outward sloping rim, 2 strap handles extending from the neck to the body, and a flat base. There are raised bands of pressed/incised design around the neck and along the handles. There appears to be a smoothed finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in a reducing atmosphere as the surface is black and the interior is gray in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the object in black ink on the bottom of the base. Black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "3119." |
