Description | Small, Pinnate Leaf Pattern. Similar to 31034 Wide mouthed jug with an ovate body, flaring collar, rounded rim, 1 strap handle on the body, and a flat base. No molded/modeled additions. The vessel is painted white with a black geometric design (card says pinnate leaf) around the body. The rim is painted red and there are black and brown stripes on the handle. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior and a smoothed finish on the interior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "2340." |
