Description | Undyed white oak. Wickerwork "melon" shape. Eleven narrow ribs on either side between wide reinforcing splint beneath rim rib and wide center splint which also forms arched handle. Nails used in manufacture. Compare with NE and SE Indian "Melon baskets." |
